“Let me show you…

That’s how this incredible song (‘alternatives’) from 1984 starts…or more accurately, these are the first words (complete lyrics below), but before that haunting electric guitars lonely sounds echo for a bit, followed by children’s voices and demonic bass and drums…it’s like angels flying around, children playing – everything is still possible, and then death itself shows up (that’s the deep ‘demonic’ bass riff) – I know this has nothing to do with the lyrics, it’s just something that comes up, in my head, over and over when I listen to the intro of this song…have a listen for yourself Youtube link…what do you think?…and then at the end chorus reciting ‘Father’s prayer’…and last words ‘Amen’.

I’ve shared my enchantment with Red Box and their songs earlier on this blog, but the Opposition, and the Waterboys from the 80’s come very close…such a great music…where is it now?

Let me show you an alternative
It’s not that easy and it’s not that clear

I shall be judged in weaker moments
But in the end there’s only you
Can you see now there are no heroes
In the end there’s only you

Let me guide you to a different situation
It may be painful but there’s nothing to fear.
And you ask me for direction
and I give you an alternative

I shall be judged in weaker moments
But in the end there’s only you
Can you see now there are no heroes
In the end there’s only you

Let me ask you a simple question
It’s easy but it’s not that clear
…This is hard for me
And then you guide me
Through a difficult situation
…This is painful and …This is fear.
Then you ask me for direction
And I give you an alternative
And you ask me for direction
And I give you an alternative

I shall be judged in weaker moments
But in the end there’s only you
Can you see now there are no heroes
In the end there’s only you.
I shall be judged in weaker moments…

There is no ‘I’ in team…

you’ve heard that before right ? how about…There’s no ‘I’ in team, but there’s ‘M and E’…isn’t all about ‘me’ anyway, who says ‘I’ these days. That reminds me of a popular song recently ‘me myself and I’ – how many are there ?

There is no ‘I’ in team…
